Spotted Towhee Flood

In 1995, the Rufous-sided Towhee was split into two species, the Eastern Towhee and (seen here) the Spotted Towhee ( http://www.birds.cornell.edu/AllAboutBirds/BirdGuide/Spotted_Towhee.html ) . These guys love to hide in the brush. There are 21 different subspecies of Spotted Towhee are recognized and they also hybridize with Eastern Towhees where their ranges meet to make matters even more confusing. ;-)))
