Horsetooth Glow
Please View Large on Black ( http://www.darckr.com/photo?photoid=4602479115&width=1024&height=768&photoid=4607329158 ) Edit: I would like to dedicate this image to *hb19, aka Horst, aka one of the brightest lights I have encountered here on flickr. I was unbelievably saddened to learn that Horst has passed away this past week. Peace be with you my friend, you will be unbelievably missed and thanks for all your trademark colorful sparks of photographic inspiration. But most of all I remember Horst as a kind person who more than anything wanted to brighten up the day of those he came across, and he has done that in spades. I'm sure the family would appreciate your condolences, you can visit the last photo he posted to do so here ( http://www.flickr.com/photos/h19/4564878094/ ) . Recently we had one of those amazing glowing sunsets that was very short-lived. Thankfully, we had decided to go for an evening drive so I didn't miss it. Happy weekend all! Image Notes: Started this one as an HDR and after being mostly unsatisfied with the results I double-processed a -0.3 EV exposure to project highlights and used a smidgen of the hdr version to patch up the most burned out portions of the sky.
