An Epiphytic Episode in the Hoh Rain Forest

A particularly impressive bigleaf maple heavily endowed with epiphytic mosses and ferns stands along the Hall of Mosses Trail at Olympic National Park. Annual precipitation here ranges from 140 to 167 inches (12 to 14 ft/3.6 to 4.2 m)!
