Prairie Fire on the Purg

The orange haze is actually smoke from a lightning-triggered fire on grasslands across the Purgatoire River from this location. Fires in grassland habitat can often have quite a few benefits for native plant species. In our case, an intense rain storm soon came and put out the fire.
