Front Range Flyout

This year we will not be going to Bosque to see Snow Geese, so we will just have to make do with our local massive wintering Canada Geese population.

Notes: This is not a composite. I shot these geese from within the city limits of Fort Collins, CO with a long telephoto (DX crop factor on 300 mm/1.4x converter). For fun this is my first attempt shooting a pano on a moving flock of birds too large to fit in a single frame. I set my camera to 7 fps and handheld two quick frames to catch most of the flock in front of Long's Peak and stitched them together in CS4. I have to say I am surprised it worked out as well as it did! ;-)
