The Source of My Power
My electrical power that is. ;-)))
The Rawhide Energy Station provides power to the Plate River Power Authority which serves Fort Collins, Loveland, Estes Park and Longmont. A low-sulfur coal-fired generator, Unit One, produces 270 megawatts of electricity, enough to serve about 250,000 homes. Additional power comes from four 65-MW natural gas generators at Rawhide, a coal-fired generator in Craig, 10 wind turbines in Wyoming and federal hydroelectric power. Rawhide's coal-fired unit is one of the most efficient in the western U.S and also ranks in the top 10 units with the lowest emissions.
