Farr's
W.D. Farr was instrumental for bringing water to Greeley and northeastern Colorado in general (without which we would not exist as cities). Besides his work on the Big Thompson Water Project for over 40 years, he also served as an adviser to the US Dept of Ag under three Presidents (Truman, Kennedy and Nixon). And as this building shows, W.D. was a force in local ranching and ag. He died at age 97 on August 13, 2007. I consider myself lucky to have met this historic figure of the town I grew up in. It's weird to see his proud name on this Ault silo railroad structure in such disrepair and decay.
PS, just took this tonight. ;-)
