This is a wild Red-tailed Hawk we saw on a drive the other day. For some reason I always get a kick out of photographing one with an obvious band such as here. ;-)))
Image Notes: This was a bit of an experiment with dreary light to see if properly exposed ISO 3200 could produce anything workable. I certainly notice some negative artifacts, but it's amazingly well-controlled for flippin' 3200! My conclusion is I would avoid 3200 if at all possible, but in a pinch I would use it. Also I should note that I added blue to the sky in Capture NX, it was a cloudy day with flat light.
