Heceta Head Lighthouse is truly a treasured gem on the Oregon coast. On the right in this image you can see the lighthouse keeper's house where where we had the wedding (featured in my previous posting see below).
Shot Notes: I found that letting the powerful lighthouse shine directly into the lens would quickly blow out the shot, but I also wanted a full circle of light with a starburst around the light. To pull it off as the light turned, I used a small card in front of the lens to basically burn/dodge like in an old school darkroom. I've seen people use cards like this in place of an ND grad, & it also works great for fireworks. It can be hit or miss too, so have fun experimenting if you opt to try it!
